Rationale and Objectives
The main objectives of the program are:
(1) To operate, maintain and upgrade the Philippine seismic networks;
(2) To issue timely earthquake and tsunami bulletins/information when needed and
(3) To generate quality earthquake data for seismological researches.

B. Earthquake Data Management

- Development and Maintenance of Earthquake Database
Rationale and Objectives
The main objectives of the program are:
(1) To operate and maintain a digital strong motion network in Metro Manila and other places of concern;
(2) To determine important ground characteristics of various study areas that are important inputs to earthquake engineering studies using strong-motion data;
(3) To generate an intensity-distance equation that is needed for making reliable seismic hazard assessment, and
(4)Tto archive digital strong motion data for use of researchers and the earthquake engineering community through collaborative research partnerships with the institute

- Crustal Stress and Community Awareness Network (CSCAN)
Rationale and objectives
(1) To operate and maintain ten stations of the crustal stress network in Luzon;
(2) To correlate crustal stress data with earthquake data;
(3) To exchange crustal stress information with Chinese scientists, and;
(4) To increase earthquake awareness of local people in the 10 CSCAN sites and develop them as core groups for initiating earthquake community awareness efforts in their communities in Luzon

Rationale and Objectives
(1) To operate and maintain a CTBTO auxillary seismic station (AS 080) in Tagaytay City;
(2) To operate and maintain the CTBTO seismic equipment, computer and power supply;
(3) To submit monthly progress reports to CTBTO;
(4) To monitor and discriminate underground nuclear explosions;

Rationale and Objectives
(1) To operate and maintain three broadband stations in Baguio City (BCP) , Palayan, Nueva Ecija (PCP) and Guinayangan, Quezon (GQP);
(2) To archive broadband waveform records of significant earthquakes
(3) To conduct in-depth research on the regional Earth structure in Southeeast Asia;
