PHIVOLCS Conducts Second REDAS Training for Dagupan City

Dagupan City underwent the second REDAS training which was held at the city from February 09-14, 2014.  The training is entitled “Mainstreaming DRR into Local Development Planning Process Through the Provision and Use of REDAS Software. The first time the city underwent the training was in October 2011. This second batch was provided with the latest REDAS version and modules.  A total of 65 participants from different department offices of the Dagupan City Hall together with guest partcipants from Pangasinan PDRRMC, municipality of Mangaldan, DOST-I, NEDA-1, HLURB-NLR and KBP members attended the training. A total of 56 license keys was issued during the training. The first training day was alloted for copying and installation of the REDAS software while the remaining days were alloted for  hands-on activities and GPS fieldwork.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez gave her welcoming remarks during the opening ceremony while Judge George Mejia, CLO, in behalf of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, gave a closing message during the closing ceremony. SPO4 Carlito Ocampo, Chief of the Public Assistance and Response Management Center (PARMC) and Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo also gave their messages during the closing ceremony. PHIVOLCS Deputy Director Bartolome C. Bautista was the guest speaker for the opening and closing ceremonies. Speakers and facilitators in the training were PHIVOLCS Deputy Director Bartolome C. Bautista and PHIVOLCS trainers Maria Leonila P. Bautista, Ishmael C. Narag, Winchelle Ian Sevilla, Angelito G. Lanuza, Janila B. Deocampo, Rey Lumbang, Johnlery P. Deximo, Abigail A. Polintan and Mary Rose J. San Diego.
