Mayon Volcano Bulletin

03 October 2006

8:00 AM

Seismic activity at Mayon Volcano (13.2576oN, 123.6856oE) dipped to a low level as no volcanic earthquake or tremor was detected during the past 24 hours.  Steaming activity and crater glow were not observed due to thick cloud cover.

Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano, meaning that there is less probability for hazardous eruption. The public is reminded that the following zones should remain off-limits: Extended Danger Zone (EDZ), the area in the southeast sector up to seven (7) kilometers from the summit; and the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) for all other areas around the volcano.
