Mayon Volcano’s (13.2576^oN, 123.6856^oE) seismic network detected no volcanic earthquake during the past 24-hour observation period.  Steaming activity was moderate. Visual observation during the night was hampered by thick cloud covering the volcano’s summit.  No measurement of the sulfur dioxide emission rate was conducted due to bad weather conditions.

Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano, which means the probability of a magmatic and hazardous eruption is now remote. PHIVOLCS, however, reminds the public not to enter the six (6) kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) and the Extended Danger Zone (EDZ), which is the area in the southeast sector up to seven (7) kilometers from the summit crater due to the continuing threat from sudden explosions, rockfalls from the upper slopes and secondary pyroclastic flows arising from the collapse of newly deposited lavas at the upper and middle slopes.
