Resource Person/Speaker

PHIVOLCS provides resource person(s) either as lecturer, facilitator, and observer to requesting organizations. Standard lecture packages are basic information on volcano and volcano hazards, earthquake and earthquake hazards, and tsunami and tsunami hazards. Resource person can also provide specialized topics related to Geosciences. Facilitators or observers could be requested to assist during exercises or drills for earthquake or tsunami evacuation, subject to availability of personnel.

Document(s) required:
1. Letter of Request. Address all letters to DR. RENATO U. SOLIDUM, JR., PHIVOLCS Director.
Please state the topic and number of participants, place, date and time of lecture, contact landline number(s) and contact person of requesting agency.

Additional requirements – Requesting Agency should provide:
1. Transportation (pick-up and bring back resource speaker to PHIVOLCS Main Office);
2. Computer and LCD projector as lecture presentations are in powerpoint format;
3. Meal(s) and accommodation if outside Metro Manila and requiring overnight stay.

To request:
1. Hand-carry, mail or fax letter of request. Letter of request must be received by PHIVOLCS at least one (1) week prior to date of activity;
2. If hand-carried, Ms.Cayabyab or a GDAPD personnel will receive your letter request. If request was mailed or faxed, Ms. Cayabyab will confirm by calling if request has been received;
3. Follow-up after two (2) working days from receipt of request.
4. If necessary, request contact information of Resource Person;

Fees: (none), incidental travel expenses if incurred by Resource Speaker
Processing Time: 2 days (request should be received two weeks ahead of scheduled activity).
