Project title:

Liquefaction Hazard Assessment for Resilient Schools in Greater Metro Manila Area: A Liquefaction Probabilistic Model Using Non-invasive Geophysical Techniques and Limited Borehole

 

Project Objectives:

The objectives of the research are: (1) establish a science-based rapid assessment technique in the assessment of liquefaction potential using non-invasive geophysical techniques, (b) assess liquefaction potential of selected DepEd schools within the Greater Metro Manila (GMMA) and (c) recommend interventions to minimize the impact of liquefaction to make public schools resilient to liquefaction hazard.

Employment status:

Contract of Services under PCIEERD GIA-funded project in the

Geology and Geophysics Research and Development Division (GGRDD)

 

Contract Duration:
August 2020 to July 2021


Position Title and Job Description:

Four (4) Project Science Research Assistant

 

Monthly Salary:
PhP 22,515.60

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Staff in various geophysical and geotechnical surveys related to the project
  • Assist in the post-field data processing
  • Assist in the preparation of project documents
  • Coordinate with the Department of Education and other collaborative partners of the project
  • Write progress reports and contribute to the project’s technical writing
  • Other activities that are necessary for the project to be completed

 

 Educational Background:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in any 4-year course relevant to the job

 

Experience/Training/Competency:

  • Willing to be deployed continuously in the field
  • Basic knowledge of mapping software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, etc.)
  • Technical writing skills
  • Science research skills

 


 

One (1) Project Driver II

 

Monthly Salary:
PhP 16,568.40

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observe safe driving habits and obey traffic rules and regulations
  • Accompany project staff in meetings, fieldworks, and other appointments
  • Assist project staff in loading and unloading of scientific equipment
  • Ensure proper and timely maintenance of vehicle
  • Plan the most convenient driving routes with the help of navigational apps
  • Prepare trip ticket
  • Punctual in reporting to office/field and records in the Daily Time Record
  • Perform other project-related tasks to be assigned from time to time
  • Reports directly to Project leader/SSRS of Liquefaction Project

 

 Educational Background:

  •  None

 

Experience/Training/Competency:   

  • With Professional Driver’s License
  • Willing to be deployed in the field continuously (usually Monday to Friday)
