(1) Science Research Specialist I
Brief Description of the Position
- Participates in the conduct of volcano research initiatives of the section;
- Conduct collection and collation of primary and secondary data related to the volcano research;
- Conducts field data gathering including geologic mapping, sampling, monitoring of river channel morphology using drone and kinematic surveys;
- Conducts sample preparation, laboratory processing and analysis volcanic samples;
- Performs desktop interpretation of various volcano geologic deposits and qualitative hazard zones;
- Performs quantitative volcanic hazards analyses and modelling, including risk research and assessment;
- Prepares administrative papers;
- Writes technical reports;
- Attends internal and external engagements/ trainings/ meetings;
- Perform other duties assigned
