Job description:
■ Reporting to the VDM Section Head and the Division Head
■ Responsible for assisting in the upkeep of volcano database server
■ Assist in data encoding, scripting and database housekeeping
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Educational background
■ Graduate of BS Information Technology or any related courses are encouraged to apply

■ At least 1 year experience in engineering or science-based job

Name of Project:
Seismic and Infrasound Monitoring and Studies of Active Volcanoes (SIMS)
Contract Duration:
March – June 2021 (can be renewed if performance is at least satisfactory)
Job description:
■ Reporting to the GMRD Section Head and the Division Head
■ Assist in processing and analysis of seismic data and other related tasks - data extraction, quality control checks, refinement of event picking, assimilations of processed catalog, data archiving, etc.
■ Programming and coding to improve the efficiency of the data processing system
■ Maintaining and installing data processing systems in volcano observatories
■ Helping in the care and maintenance of geophysical instruments
■ Assist in data encoding, scripting and database housekeeping
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Educational background
■ Graduate of BS Geology, Physics, Mathematics or any related
courses are encouraged to apply
Required skills and qualities
■ Computer literate
■ Experience in computer programming and conducting scientific
data analysis
■ Self-motivated
■ Patient enough to handle routine processing of huge amount of
waveform data
■ Can work with minimal supervision
■ Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills
