Meteorological And Geological Hazard Advisories, Warnings and Notifications for Decisive Action (#MAGHANDA)
This project aims to provide a clearer understanding of warning messages regarding natural hazards to have better response action from local government units (LGU) and the media. The objectives are to develop the skills of the LGUs, specifically municipal local government operations officers, local information officers and first responders in understanding warning messages and planning for response actions in disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts; and formulate policy recommendations for the Department of Interior and Local Government, as represented by LGUs, to use as basis for updating their DRR plans
Position : Project Assistant II
Description : #MAGHANDA will be hiring one (1) Project Assistant II to be assigned/detailed at DOST-PHIVOLCS. He/ She will conduct the following project-related activities mainly in the:
Coordination and pre-activity meetings with stakeholders.
- Serves as focal person in terms of coordination and external relations concerns;
- Coordinates and sets up pre-activity meetings with stakeholders
- Prepares communication letters and invitations related to the project's activities;
- Conducts coordination and follow ups on invites and maintains monitoring sheet of communication with stakeholders;
- Creates and maintains master list of stakeholders with contacts details;
- Prepares, collates and summarizes project-related forms;
- Assists in the preparation of Project-related supplies, materials and seminar activity kits;
- Handles release of e-certificates and evaluation surveys, if necessary;
- Assists in the seminar-workshop proper and group forums;
- Assists in the coordination and pre- and post-activity meetings with Project partners;
- Undertake other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Education, Work, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field, preferably with working knowledge of Earth Sciences or Disaster Risk Reduction;
- Computer literate;
- Proficiency in virtual meeting rooms and digital platforms;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and web research
- Results-0riented, resourceful and can work with minimum supervision; and,
- Capable of multi-tasking and can work under pressure.
Salary and Contract of Employment:
Monthly Salary: 25, 446.00
No. of Vacancy: One (1)
Contract of Employment: 12 months; working hours and working area will be defined in the Contract once hired.
