Science Research Specialist II
Brief Description of the Position
Automates routine processes, develop and manage workflows and databases related to the PHIVOLCS GIS Web Enterprise;
Specializes on GIS/RS R&D and produces GIS/RS-related products and services in connection to hazards, vulnerability and risk studies;
Drives continuous innovations in the RS/GIS R&D unit of the Geomatics & HAS Section;
Drives advancements in creating higher-value maps and analysis for PHIVOLCS and for other agencies and organizations for related assessments;
Initiates design thinking R&D for improvement of products and services under GGRDD;
Assists in developing RS-and GIS-related outputs for DOST-PHIVOLCS and GeoRiskPH-related initiatives;
Assists in the development of training modules for GeoMapperPH and other workshop materials that may be needed;
Conducts fieldworks and lectures;
Attends internal and external engagements/ trainings/ meetings;
Writes technical reports and prepare presentations;
Publishes papers in peer-reviewed journals;
Prepares administrative papers;
Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to time

Education
Bachelor's degree relevant to the job.
Graduates of BS Geology, Geography, Geodetic Engineering or any related courses are encouraged to apply.

Strong background in GIS and RS Technologies;
Knowledgeable in GIS software, database management and developing schema;

Good Interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;
Good technical writing skills
