Project description:
The PHIVOLCS-funded project Development of Early Warning Systems for Landslides, also known as the DYNASLOPE Project, is a multidisciplinary endeavor addressing the problem of landslide risk. The project is composed of instrumentation engineers, software engineers, civil engineers, geologists, social scientists, and community developers working together towards the development of a community-based early warning system for landslides.

July to December 2022 (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)

One (1) Project Science Research Specialist II under Operations team


Monthly Salary: PhP 45,780.00


Job Description
● Formulate integrated early warning system operations protocol manuals
● Develop tools related to the implementation, evaluation, and refinement of protocol of the early warning system operations
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol
● Conduct pre­ and post­ fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Perform other duties that may be required by the project.
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects
● Submits necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL;


Educational Background
● BS Computer Science, BS Industrial Engineering, BS Applied Physics, BS Physics, BS Math, BS Stat, or any data science-related course

 

Experience/Training/Competency
● Preferably with knowledge in operations research
● Critical thinker and meticulous to details
● Demonstrate good math-based problem solving and analytical skills;.

 

 


One (1) Project Science Research Specialist II under Sensor Development team


Monthly Salary: PhP 45,780.00


Job Description
● Conduct research related to sensor development and sensor data analysis;
● Conduct pre­ and post­ fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol;
● perform other duties that may be required by the project.
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects
● submits necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL;

 

Educational Background
● BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Computer Science, BS Applied Physics, BS Physics, BS Math, BS Stat, or related field

 

Experience/Training/Competency
● preferably, licensed professional; at least one (1) year experience in relevant field, preferably in instrumentation, electronics and computer systems
● engineering; adept in instrumentation and electronics development; Microcontroller firmware development; ( C, C++ )
● Familiar with MySQL and Python ( big data, data analysis )

 

 


One (1) Project Science Research Specialist II under Software Infrastructure team


Monthly Salary: PhP 45,780.00


Job Description
● Conduct system management to software (full-stack web and mobile applications) development
● Assists in the development of client and experts web presentation interface
● Assists in the development of the mid and high fidelity prototypes
● Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol
● Perform other duties that may be required by the project
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects
● Submits necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL

 

Educational Background
● BS Information Technology, BS Computer Science, or any programming related course


Experience/Training/Competency
● Proficient in Ubuntu / Windows / CentOS Server; Atleast 1 year of experience in GIT; Atleast 1 year of experience in Websocket protocols
● Knowledgeable of Test Driven Development using Mocha / PHPUnit / PyUnit / Selenium Web drive;
● Has an experience in Agile Framework; Proficient in Python / Flask / React JS/ React Native and Nodejs;
● Has an experience in Web Design; CSS, Bootstrap framework, Material UI
● Has landslide monitoring experience with Data analysis and Community relations for at least 1 year;
● Has experience with Embedded Linux system; Has experience in Highcharts.js;
● Has experience in sqlalchemy (ORM);
● Has experience in POSTMAN (API Testing platform)

 

 


Two (2) Project Science Research Specialist I under Deployment and maintenance team


Monthly Salary: PhP 35,758.00


Job Description
● Creates materials for maintenance procedures of datalogger and sensor field deployments;
● Creates timely maintenance plans for datalogger and sensor field deployments;
● Ensures that dataloggers and sensors deployed in the field are working that the targeted project uptime;
● Documents fieldwork activities;
● Conduct pre­ and post­ fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol;
● Submits necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL


Educational Background
● BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Applied Physics

 

Experience/Training/Competency
● Preferably, licensed professional;
● at least six (6) months experience in relevant field, preferably in instrumentation, electronics and computer engineering;
● adept in instrumentation and electronics development;
● Microcontroller firmware development;
● Various programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc)
