Job Description:
Develops and maintains systems, workflows, and computer codes to efficiently process hazard information and improve methodologies related to ground shaking/earthquake-induced landslide research and mapping
Design and develop mobile and web visualization and application
Support GIS and IT innovations
Conducts analysis and interpretation of processed data
Conducts research on machine learning applications by using appropriate technology or systems
Writes technical reports and work instructions
Assists the Project Leader in ensuring that project outputs and goals, and other administrative requirements are achieved
Performs other tasks that may be assigned
Educational Background
Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related courses are encouraged to apply
Experience/Training/Competency
Preferably with experience in systems design and development, database maintenance, and other related work
Analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
Experience or training/s in machine learning techniques using AI is an advantage

Job Description:
Pre-processes remote sensing data (LiDAR, IfSAR, and aerial photos) to make them ready for tsunami modelling
Develops tsunami modelling network for hazard mapping
Conducts earthquake hazards mapping and research using geophysical, geomorphological, geologic and AI techniques and instrumentation
Assists in the analysis and interpretation of processed data
Carries out research methods and activities in the project plan
Assists in writing of reports and publishable papers
Assists in operation/population/maintenance of databases
Assists in administrative tasks concerning the project
Presents results in written and oral manner
Performs other tasks that may be assigned
Educational Background
Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics or any courses related to Engineering and Earth Sciences are encouraged to apply
Experience/Training/Competency
Able, willing and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks
Basic field mapping and GIS skills
Able to communicate well with coworkers, partners and stakeholders
Able to manage work schedule and project activities
With good technical writing and presentation skills
With sound understanding of research topic principles and methodologies related to earthquake sources and effect
Has basic knowledge in water wave science (tsunami, storm surge, tides, etc.)
Has basic knowledge in any numerical modeling technique
Has work/research experience in programming, including compiled (C, C++, Fortran), parallel programming; (MPI, OpenMP) and high-level scripting languages (Python, R or MATLAB) in an academic and research setting
Programming experience in Linux environment is an advantage
