Earthquake Ground Shaking Landslide Information and Research in Philippines (SLIP) – GS Component
Contract Duration:
April – June 2023 (can be renewed if performance is at least satisfactory)
Job description:
■ Knowledge in GIS software to create and manipulate vector files, automate routine processes and develop and manage workflows
■ PGA modelling and GIS modelling using REDAS
■ Database management and development of schema
■ Conduct R&D and assist in writing technical reports
■ Other tasks related to the completion of the project
■ Will conduct fieldwork, if needed
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned
○ Educational background
■ Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or any physical science-related courses are encouraged to apply
○ Required skills and qualities
■ Knowledgeable in any GIS software
■ Good technical report writing skills
■ Basic science research, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
■ Basic knowledge in data management and Microsoft Office

Job description:
■ Knowledge in GIS software to create and manipulate vector files, automate routine processes and develop and manage workflows
■ EIL Hazard modelling using ArcGIS
■ PGA modelling using REDAS
■ Compile landslide (earthquake and rain-induced landslide) inventory database, and assists in building database schema and developing methods for landslide analysis
■ Conduct RS interpretations for landslides and for other related studies
■ Conduct R&D and assist in writing technical reports
■ Other tasks related to the completion of the project
■ Will conduct fieldwork, if needed
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned
○ Educational background
■ Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or any physical science-related courses are encouraged to apply
○ Required skills and qualities
■ Knowledgeable in any GIS software
■ Good technical report writing skills
■ Background in geomorphology, geology, and landslide modelling
■ Basic science research, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
■ Basic knowledge in data management and Microsoft Office
