Contract of Services under Strong Motion Network Development and Earthquake Engineering Section of the Seismological Observation and Earthquake Prediction Division (SOEPD)

 

Contract Duration:
June 2023 (can be renewed if performance is at least satisfactory)

 

One (1) Senior Science Research Specialist

 

Monthly Salary: P 59,802.00

 

Job Description:
 Manage and supervise project activities and staff performance
 Exercises overall supervision and control of all program’s objectives and activities of the project
 Set and ensure achievement of goals and targets for the understanding and monitoring of SHADE project
 Lead research into Seismic Hazard Assessment and Design Earthquake of the Philippines (SHADE) project
 Write a technical research report paper for the project
 Conduct work related to implementation of SHADE project
 Work on parallel computing machine
 Create and manipulate maps in GIS or any mapping tools ARGIS, QGIS and GMT
 Conduct research for NSCP 2015, ASCE 7-05,7-10, 7-16, 7-22 Design codes
 Performs other tasks that may be assigned

 

Educational Background
 Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Engineering or any related courses are encouraged to apply

 

Experience/Training/Competency
 At least 2 years of experience in supervising a project
 Technical knowledge and writing skills
 Computer/ technology skills
 Attention to detail
 Project management skills
 Can do advance Programming in Python
 Can work well with a team, is innovative and can work independently
 Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Monthly Salary: P 54,244.00

 

Job Description:
 Able to create script, compile, and run in python platform
 Support GIS and IT innovation
 Involved in web and mobile development related to Seismic Hazard Assessment and Design Earthquake of the Philippines (SHADE) project
 Involved in Seismic Hazard Assessment and Design Earthquake of the Philippines (SHADE) system integrations
 Create and manipulate maps in GIS or any mapping tools ARGIS, QGIS and GMT
 Performs other tasks that may be assigned

 

Educational Background
 Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related courses are encouraged to apply

 

Experience/Training/Competency
 Preferably with experience in systems design and development (web and mobile), database maintenance
 Analytical skills with a good problem- solving attitude
 Experience in system design and development; database maintenance
 Good team relationships
 Can work with minimal supervision

Two (2) Computer Programmer II

 

Monthly Salary: P 42,116.00

 

Job Description:
 Supports the team in continuously driving innovations for SHADE project
 Supports in the design and development of mobile and web visualization and applications
 Create and manipulate maps in GIS or any mapping tools ARGIS, QGIS and GMT
 Performs other tasks that may be assigned

 

Educational Background
 Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related courses are encouraged to apply

 

Experience/Training/Competency
 At least 4 hours of relevant training
 At least 1-year relevant experience
 Software development
 Good interpersonal skills
 Preferably with experience in systems design and development (web and mobile), database maintenance, and other related work
 Can work well with a team, is innovative and can work independently
