PHIVOLCS Operational Remote Sensing Services (PORSS)

 

Contract Duration:
July - December 2023 (can be renewed if performance is at least satisfactory)


Job description:

■ Performs RS/GIS analyses related to geologic and hazard interpretations for the generation of maps or other RS products as aid to disaster reduction, post-disaster assessment and information dissemination
■ Research alternate methods and techniques to optimize RS data for geology-, hazard-and risk-related services in PHIVOLCS
■ Adopt ArcGIS Enterprise in the conduct of information generation
■ Generate reports, submit minutes of meetings attended
■ Support in the maintenance and monitoring of the PORSS
■ Performs other tasks that may be assigned


Educational background
■ Bachelor’s Degree in Geodetic Engineering, Geology or any related courses are encouraged to apply

 

Required skills and qualities
■ Knowledge in processing of RS images (optical and radar) and Geographic Information System (GIS), ArcGIS is preferred
