Job description:

  • Works with the Supervising SRS for implementing the volcano-, earthquake and tsunami-related DRR capacity development program of the agency for various stakeholders.
  • He/She is expected to do public speaking and science communication to DOST-PHIVOLCS stakeholders.
  • Assists the Section Head to develop and implement capacity development for barangay and community level preparedness for volcano, earthquake and tsunami.
  • Willing and fit to travel anywhere in the Philippines.
  • Performs other functions as may be assigned by the supervisor/s.

 

Education

Bachelor's Degree relevant to the job

Graduates of bachelor's degree in earth science and/or related fields like volcanology, seismology and tsunami are encouraged to apply.

 

Training

4 hours of relevant training

 

Experience

1 year of relevant experience

Those with experience and knowledge in the field of science of volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunami, disaster risk reduction, public engagement, public speaking and writing reports and articles are encouraged to apply.

Job Description:

  • Conceptualizes, designs and layouts print and /or digital bearing in mind the need to simplify information about hazards and risks.
  • Conceptualizes and develops audio-visual materials for awareness and preparednss activities. 
  • Maintains and organizes the photo-and-video archive of documented events/activities.
  • Catalogues selected photo-and-video materials.
  • Provides audio-visual support in PHIVOLCS activities.
  • Collates relevant data and /or feedback during events and analyzes this to have better understanding of stakeholder's information needs.
  • Writes reports of activities.
  • Can work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing and fit to travel anywhere in the Philippines.
  • Performs other functions as may be assigned by the supervisor/s.

Education

Bachelor's Degree relevant to the job

Graduates of BS Mass Communication, Development Communication, Multi-Media Arts, Audio-Visual, and other related courses are encouraged to apply.
