Brief Description of the Position
- Assist in the Operation and Maintenance of all the Stations of the Philippine Tsunami Network (PTN) composed of 29 Sea Level Monitoring Station (SLMS) for tsunami detection and 84 Community Tsunami;
- Coordinate with three Cluster Centers and Mirror Station such as the PMCMCET, PVCMCET, and PTMS for the maintenance of respective stations within each cluster;
- Participate in tsunami data acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation for quick inclusion of event parameters to timely issuance of Earthquake (EQInfo) and Tsunami Information;
- Participate in collecting tide/tsunami data;
- Facilitate the repair preventive maintenance and upgrade including Repair and Rehabilitation Projects of all the tsunami stations and other related installations;
- Assist in any earthquake and tsunami community awareness programs and activities;
- Act a resource person and spokesperson when assigned by Unit Head/Section Head/Division Chief;
- Other works assigned by the SOEPD Chief and STNO Section Head related to issuances and operations including external meetings and field trips to any of the stations.

- Performs limited monitoring duties in a rotating capacity during significant earthquakes, tsunami and other related emergencies;
- Utilizes various tools to provide raw data, event data and meta data to timely and satisfactorily support stakeholder needs;
- Assists in the processing, analyzing and archiving of seismic data;
- Assists in preparation, proofreading and publication of the seismic phase and earthquake catalogues;
- Assists in preparation and processing of data requests;
- Shall operate and routinely maintain ICT resources utilized for data management purposes;
- Assists in other activities of the SOEPD as assigned by the supervisor.
