Contract of Duration: January - December 2025
Employment Status: DOST-PCIERRD (DOST-GIA) Topographic Amplification of Earthquake Ground Motion for Landslide Hazard Assessment (TOUGH Project)
Educational Background: At least a bachelor's degree in geology or civil engineering or related field
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Conduct R&D related to seismic analysis, topographic amplification, site response and landslide hazards
● Supervise project’s members, progress, data and results. Ensure that research results and intervention outputs are delivered satisfactorily and on time
● Conduct general administrative works. Submit relevant documentation to the project supervisors
● In charge for geomorphologic, geotechnical, geophysical, geodetic and seismological data interpretation, processing and analysis
● Lead the data analysis, interpretation, modeling and processing
● Conduct field work for geomorphological, geotechnical and geophysical surveys
● Lead in writing technical papers and preparing presentations
● Conduct training, capacity building, workshops, and consultations
● Perform other tasks related to the completion of this project
Experience/Training/Competencies:
● Preferably a licensed professional with at least two (2) years of relevant expertise in engineering geology, or civil or geotechnical engineering
● At least 6 months of experience doing earthquake and landslide related research
● Willing and fit for travel and fieldwork
● Knowledgeable in common office applications, GIS numerical simulations, remote sensing analysis and programming; and database management
● Strong scientific research, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Experience at any research institution is a plus
● Conduct R&D and write technical reports
● Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in fieldwork and research
● Effective communication abilities in both in English and Filipino
● Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills with team members and other

Contract of Duration: January - December 2025

Educational Background: At least a bachelor's degree in geology or civil engineering or related field

● Assist in the conduct of training, capacity building, workshops, and consultations

Experience/Training/Competencies:
● At least one (1) year of relevant experience in geology, civil or geotechnical engineering
● Willing and fit for travel and fieldwork
● Basic field mapping and GIS skills. Experience in remote sensing analysis and programming is an advantage
● Demonstrate fundamental scientific research, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
● Experience with common office applications and database management
● Experience using geotechnical and geophysical equipments, and other mapping technologies
● With good technical writing and presentation skills
● Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in fieldwork and research
● Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills with team members

Employment Status: DOST-PCIERRD (DOST-GIA) Topographic Amplification of Earthquake Ground Motion for Landslide Hazard Assessment (TOUGH Project)
Educational Background: At least a bachelor's degree in geology or civil engineering or related field
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Conduct R&D related to seismic analysis, topographic amplification, site response and landslide hazards
● Lead and supervise project’s staff, progress, data and results. Ensure that research results and intervention outputs are delivered satisfactorily and on time
● Actively participate in Project-level management and strategic planning
● Administer project technical reporting, documentation and monitoring. Submit pertinent documents (outputs) to the Project Leader
● Responsible for developing novel technologies for data processing and management; automating routine procedures; and creating and managing workflows
● Lead the R&D write up of the project’s technical papers
●Lead the field work for geomorphological, geotechnical and geophysical surveys
● Lead the training, capacity building, workshops, and consultations
● Perform other tasks related to the completion of this project
Experience/Training/Competencies:
● Preferably a licensed professional with at least two (2) years of relevant expertise in engineering geology, or civil or geotechnical engineering
● At least one (1) year of experience doing earthquake and landslide related research
