Monthly Salary: P 61,565.00
Employment Status: Contract of Service under Geomatics and Hazards Assessment Service Section of Geology and Geophysics Research and Development Division (GGRDD)
Educational Background: Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Geodetic Engineering, Geology, Geography, or any Earth Science related courses are encouraged to apply
Job Description:
- Oversees the PTA IV under the project
- Explores techniques on AI, geophysics and remote-sensing and contribute to developing up-to-date methodologies
- Writes reports, procedures and publishable papers
- Operates/maintains/builds databases
- Implements project activities and work plans
- Accomplishes administrative tasks concerning the project
- Presents results in written and oral manner
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned
Experience/Training/Competency:
- Advanced knowledge in Remote Sensing and GIS
- Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks
- Has experience in programming in an academic or research setting
- Working knowledge on AI applications in Remote Sensing
- Able to communicate well with co-workers, partners, and stakeholders
- Able to manage work schedule and project activities

Job Description
- Maintains exposure database of partner LGUs
- Produces exposure, vulnerability and risk maps for LGUs
- Assists in LGU coordination regarding the needs of the project (data requests, official meetings, fieldwork schedules, etc)
- Assists in the analysis and interpretation of processed data
- Assists in writing of reports and publishable papers
- Presents results in written and oral manner
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned
Experience/Training/Competency:
- Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks
- Field mapping and GIS skills
- Able to communicate well with co-workers, partners and stakeholders
- Able to manage work schedule and project activities
- With good technical writing and presentation skills
- Programming skill is an advantage
- With sound understanding of research topic principles and methodologies related to seismic and hydrometeorological hazards and effects
- Preferably with experience in land use mapping and risk, exposure, and vulnerability calculations
