Brief Description of the Position
Reporting to the Division Head, the successful candidate will be appointed as Head of the Volcano Data Management (VDM) Section. He/she will be responsible for leading, supervising and assessing database and application development activities for the Philipines' volcano monitoring data, managing the application of new database programming techniques and technologies, managing the performance of VDM staff as well as the upkeep and integrity of PHIVOLCS' volcano monitoring database, and performing other responsibilities assigned by his/her supervisor.

He/she will be responsible for leading, supervising and assessing ground deformation monitoring and research activities on the Philippines' most active volcanoes, developing and managing applications of new geodetic techniques and technologies, managing the performance of GDRD staff as well as the upkeep and integrity of ground deformation instruments and stations, and performing other responsibilities assigned by his/her new supervisors.
