Measurement of Velocities of Earthquake Faults (MOVE Faults)
Project Summary:
The project aims to (1) determine the crustal deformation patterns along active faults in the country by identifying which part of these active structures are locked, creeping or currently accumulating strains -- data that can be used to identify which areas are actively deforming; (2) quantify their velocities and (3) if possible, calculate their recurrence intervals. Results from this study can be used eventually towards the development of a more comprehensive program on the evaluation of seismic hazards and risks, an essential component of earthquake disaster mitigation projects.

Educational background
- Graduate of BS Physics, Applied Physics, Geodetic Engineering or other related courses
Required skills and qualities
- At least 2 years of experience in GPS campaign survey
- At least 2 years of experience in GPS data processing using Bernese Software
- At least 24 hours of training in GPS data processing using Bernese Software
- Has working knowledge of Python, GMT and MATLAB
- Has working knowledge of C/C++ programming
- Has working knowledge with Installation, maintenance and basic repair of GPS equipment and power systems
