DOST-PHIVOLCS installed two additional seismic stations for the first semester of 2021.

San Policarpo, Eastern Samar

The 109th seismic station was installed in San Policarpo, Eastern Samar. The installation period lasted from June 1 to 11, 2021. DOST-PHIVOLCS extends its gratitude to Mayor Thelma U. Nicart.

Gloria, Oriental Mindoro

The 110th seismic station was installed in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro. The installation period lasted from July 5 to 10, 2021. DOST-PHIVOLCS thanks the MDRRMO led by Atanacio Toledo Jr., and Mayor German D. Rodegerio. 

These seismic stations are equipped with earthquake monitoring and satellite data transmission systems powered by solar panels. DOST-PHIVOLCS aims to add more seismic stations under the National Earthquake Monitoring and Information (NEMI) program.
