PHIVOLCS conducted a five-day orientation and REDAS EDM survey from June 20 - 24, 2016 for the City of Bogo, Cebu. The purpose is to conduct exposure database survey in the City of Bogo under the GAA-funded project “Seismic Risk Assessment of Selected Areas in the Philippines (SeRene). The data will be used to paintbrush exposure data for the rest of Cebu province.  The team was led by Dr. Maria Leonila P. Bautista and supported by Johnlery Deximo, Robinson Jiorgio, Project Assistants Dave Andrei Rivera. John Ted Sison, Greggue Ann LyzaCastro. Contractual Employees Joana Umbaña and Clint Drexel Ongue.  The team surveyed five barangays (Carbon, Polombato, Taytayan, Libertad and San Vicente) using android cellphones and tablets.  The team was able to survey more than 724 buildings filling in 50 attribute information per building including information about its geographic location, building and street names, photographs, building length and depth, estimated number of occupants, building type, floor elevation, era of construction, number of basement levels, maximum flood level and number of storeys.

The team also trained the designated Data Manager of the city on data cleaning and merging, displaying of data and management.  The team also computed for earthquake risk using Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data and using actual survey data.  A total of 11 EDM license keys for LGUs use and 25 license keys for school officials were also provided so they can continue the surveys.

The PHIVOLCS team also presented the results to the City Mayor, Cebu PDRRMO, French Red Cross and DRMMO officers of Bogo, Danao and Daanbantayan.
