PHIVOLCS held a three-day training for the Canlaon City local government officials on how to conduct  REDAS Exposure Database Module (EDM) survey.  The training was held from January 22 - 24, 2019 at Canlaon City. The goal of the training was to provide and familiarize the enumerators with the capacity of the EDM android survey tool which is designed to be used for surveying buildings which will then be used for risk assessment. There was a total of 35 participants during the training. The participants were provided with REDAS Android EDM version 2.6 for the survey.

The pilot barangays chosen for the survey were Mabigo (Pob.) and Panubigan. On the first day, the participants were given an orientation and introduction about the REDAS Software, Building Typology, and an Overview of the Exposure Database Module. A practice survey was also done on the same day at Barangay Panubigan. The following day, the participants were deployed at Brgy. Mabigo (Poblacion) and Panubigan for the continuation of their fieldwork. On the same day, they were also shown how the survey data would look like by using the REDAS-EDM for PC and QGIS. On the third day, they continued surveying their respective assigned barangays. Later in the afternoon, the participants were shown the survey data for the three-days in REDAS and QGIS. Earthquake Risk Results were also presented using the Survey Data of Canlaon City and Bayawan City.   The officials also agreed to complete building survey of Bgys Mabigo and Panubigan before election 2019.
