Project description:

GeoRisk Philippines (GeoRiskPH) Initiative is a government-led multi-agency initiative led by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), to serve as the central resource of information on natural hazards and risk assessment. It aims to support the country’s resilience against natural hazards and risks through enhancing the Philippines’ disaster risk reduction and management efforts by providing geospatial information and tools for better decision-making.

Employment status:

Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS locally-funded project

 

Contract Duration:

May to June 30, 2026  (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)

Monthly Salary: PhP 43,350.00

 

Job Description

  • Design engaging, user-friendly website interfaces and visually appealing article layouts for GeoRiskPH websites and other relevant platforms;
  • Organizes GeoRiskPH trainings, workshops, conventions and other capacity-building activities, with senior project staff;
  • Manage social media platforms of GeoRiskPH;
  • Facilitates GeoRiskPH Trainings and other related engagements;
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure GeoRiskPH platforms are accessible and usable to stakeholders;
  • Conduct data cleansing and data management, create web maps and web apps for training;
  • Document GeoRiskPH related activities;
  • Supports in the maintenance of the GeoRiskPH Integrated Platform, GeoRiskPH Integrated (Database) System;
  • Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Educational Background

Bachelor of Multimedia Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, BA Journalism, or related course

 

Experience/Training/Competency

  • With at least 2 years proven advanced knowledge in web & article design and, with good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
