Project title: Audio-Visual Facilities Production, Documentation and Archive System (AVPDAS)
Project description:
An integral part of the agency’s preparedness initiative, the audio-visual documentation project will promote earthquake and volcano information awareness and preparedness through video packages and documentation of significant events. The documentation of every event is vital to the agency’s information dissemination through archival and verification of significant events related to its mandate. Video packages such as PHIVOLCS Information, basics about earthquakes, tsunami, and volcanoes, and earthquake drills, will provide additional information to different men and women stakeholders. These video packages will be helpful to vulnerable sectors, especially women, children, persons with disability, senior citizens, and indigenous peoples, to disaster risk reduction, as additional resources in understanding technical concepts on earthquakes, tsunami, and volcanoes.
The DOST-PHIVOLCS video packages are conceptualized and developed the overall contents which use peoples’ level language, gender-fair images, and language (socially inclusive). Moreover, the mode of presentation (digital) should adapt to the age, educational level, and ethnicity of the target users. These video packages developed by DOST-PHIVOLCS are available online through YouTube and Facebook.
Enhanced disaster awareness and preparedness through audio-visual packages developed specifically for different sectors in the community: men, women, children, PWD, senior citizens, and indigenous peoples.
