Job Description
● Collect, organize, and process data for tsunami source modeling and simulation input
● Conduct R&D on tsunami hazard modeling and other related topics
● Run basic modeling scripts or simulation tools under the guidance of senior staff
● Generate figures, maps, and datasets for technical reports and presentations
● Assist in field data collection, stakeholder coordination, and database management
JUSTIFICATION FOR HIRING: The Enhancing Structural Tsunami Resilience through Probabilistic Inundation and Design Evaluation (TRIDENT) project has approved funding and MOA. The project implementation is targeted for two years (2025-2027).
Educational Background
● Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
Experience/Training/Competency
● Relevant experience in data processing and scientific research (fresh graduates with strong technical skills may apply
● Background on coastal and/or structural engineering is preferred
● Exposure to programming (Python, R, or MATLAB) or modeling environments (basic proficiency in GIS, is an advantage)
● Willing and fit for travel and fieldwork
● With good technical writing and presentation skills
● strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to data accuracy
● Ability to work collaboratively in a research team environment
