Job Description
● Organize, process, and standardize tephra datasets, including grain size, chemistry, stratigraphy, provenance, and age, generated from the Kanlaon Volcano eruption (2023-2024) and other recent events under EDEPPV
● Compile and update project-level tephra databases and data files required for eruption-related analysis
● Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply pilot-scale analytical workflows to process tephra datasets
● Perform testing, documentation, and data reduction of analytical workflows developed to address eruption-driven backlogs
● Generate draft analytical summaries, scripts, tables, and figures for project-level evaluation
● Integrate analytical outputs with existing laboratory and historical eruption datasets for eruption investigation and reporting
● Submit completed datasets and documentation to the project team upon completion of assigned surge-related tasks

● BS Geology
Experience/Training/Competence
● Background in Geology and Volcanology
● Demonstrates working knowledge of tephra properties, classification, and analytical methods
● Able to integrate databases with GIS, laboratory systems, and eruption-history datasets
● Basic knowledge in development and maintenance of structured scalable tephra databases
● Basic to intermediate technical report writing skills
● Adept communication skills
● Applies ML results to spatial and hazard mapping applications
● Adept attention to details
● Time management and task prioritization
