Job Description
● Assist in the creation and manipulation of vector files, automation of routine processes and development and management of workflows using GIS software
● Assist in EIL Hazard modeling using ArcGIS and PGA modeling using REDAS
● Assist in compiling the landslide (earthquake and rain-induced landslide) inventory database, and assists in building database schema and developing methods for landslides and for other related studies
● Assist in the conduct of R&D and writing of technical reports
● Assist in other tasks related to the completion of this project
● The staff will conduct fieldwork, if needed
Educational Background
● Graduates of BS Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any physical science-related fields are encouraged to apply.
Experience/Training/Competency
● Willing and fit for travel and fieldwork
● Basic field mapping and GIS skills
● Experience in remote sensing analysis and programming is an advantage
● Demonstrate fundamental scientific research, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
● Experience with common office applications and database management
● Experience using geotechnical and geophysical equipments, and other mapping technologies
● With good technical writing and presentation skills
● Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in fieldwork and research
● Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills with team members
