Project title: Training Educators and Administrators for a Collective Headway towards Volcano, Earthquake, and Tsunami Disaster Risk Reduction (TEACH VETDRR)

 

Project description:

TEACH VETDRR is a capacity development project designed to equip and empower teachers with knowledge about the science of volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis, as well as their associated hazards, impacts, and preparedness and mitigation measures. The project focuses on conducting training sessions for Junior High School Teachers, Elementary School Teachers, Senior High School Teachers, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Focal Persons from the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE). Each of these capacity development activities utilizes reference materials aligned with the DepEd curriculum.

January to June 2026 (may be renewed if the performance is satisfactory)

Monthly Salary: PhP 36,125.00

 

Job Description

  1. Deliver technical lectures for various stakeholders.
  2. Contribute to the implementation of capacity development activities.
  3. Conduct coordination and pre-activity meetings with stakeholders.
  4. Develop, prepare, summarize, and analyze forms.
  5. Prepare reports on capacity development activities.
  6. Prepare capacity development supplies, materials, and training/seminar/activity kits.
  7. Manage various platforms for communication to stakeholders for capacity development activities.
  8. Assist in the daily operations of GDAPD, such as but not limited to frontline services of the Division.

 

Educational Background

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree in any of the following: Geology, Education, Communication (science communication, mass, broad, audio-visual, research, development, speech), Social sciences, Journalism (science), Community Development

 

Experience/Training/Competency

  • Public relation skills, Communication skills, Computer literate, Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) skills, Email management, Facebook or related platforms private group management, Experience/knowledgeable in hosting/assisting in trainings
