Job Description:
- Assists in local and web server database management
- Assists in the development of client and experts web presentation interface
- Develop methods and tools for sensor data monitoring and analysis
- Conduct work related to the implementation of early warning system protocol
- Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks
Educational Background:
BS Computer Science, BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Applied Physics, BS Library Science, BS Math, or any computer related course
Experience/Training/Competency:
- preferably, licensed professional, if applicable to the profession
- preferably with at least one (1) year of programming-related work
- Knowledgeable and skilled in, or at least can easily adapt to.
- Preferably adept in Python based computer programming
- Demonstrate good math based problem solving and analytical skills; Various programming languages (PHP, Python, JS, HTML, CSS, C/C++, etc)
(1) Supervising Science Research Specialist
Job Description:
- Conduct work related to the implementation of early warning system protocol
- Conduct research pertaining to one of the major output of the project (Risk assessment methods, early warning system information system and organizational frameworks, project strategic communications, project monitoring and evaluation)
- Manage and lead (both process and output development) a research group, ensuring research and intervention outputs are delivered satisfactorily and on time
- Coordinate activities and outputs with the project’s overall management team
- Assist research efforts related to disaster risk reduction and management initiatives for communities at risk of landslides
- Conduct capacity building activities (trainings, seminars, workshops) with the community and other relevant stakeholders
- Conduct work related to the implementation of the landslide early warning system
- Coordinate project concerns and logistics with the community and other relevant stakeholders
- Accomplish administrative documents related to the project
- Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole project
Educational Background:
At least Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, community development, communications, or related field
Experience/Training/Competency:
- At least 2 years experience in project and research management
- At least 2 years experience in social science research
- Preferably, with at least one (1) year experience in conducting seminars for grassroots communities on topics related to landslides or DRRM work
- demonstrate good seminar facilitation skills
- demonstrate good communication skills, both in English and Filipino
- additional local language/s is/are preferred
