Project title: Training Educators and Administrators for a Collective Headway towards Volcano, Earthquake, and Tsunami Disaster Risk Reduction (TEACH VETDRR)

 

Project description:
TEACH VETDRR is DOST-PHIVOLCS’ continuing capacity development effort for educators that aims to equip teachers with the correct knowledge about the science of volcano, earthquake, and tsunami, as well as their hazards, preparedness measures, and mitigation measures. The project entails the provision of reference materials and trainings for teachers at various levels, as well as for Division and School Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Focal Persons and Education Program Supervisors for Science. Its goal is to increase the number of engagements in the conduct of DRR initiatives in schools that empowers women and men teaching and non-teaching staff in dealing with the hazards of volcano, earthquake, and tsunami.

Employment status: Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS GAA Project

 

Contract Duration: July 7, 2025 – December 2025 (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)

 

Monthly Salary: PhP 27,871

 

Job Description
1. Act as moderator/facilitator for various stakeholders.
2. Assist in the implementation of capacity building activities.
3. Assist in the coordination and pre-activity meetings with stakeholders.
4. Assist in the development, preparation, summarizing and analyses of capacity building forms.
5. Prepare draft reports on capacity development activities.
6. Assist in the preparation of capacity building supplies, materials, and training/seminar/activity kits.
7. Assist in the management of various platforms for communication to stakeholders for capacity building activities.
8. Assist in the daily operations of GDAPD such as but not limited to frontline services of the Division.

 

Educational Background
– Diploma or bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Geology, Education, Communication (science communication, mass, broad, audio-visual, research, development, speech), Social Sciences, Journalism (science journalism), Community Development

 

Experience/Training/Competency
– Public relations skills

– Communication skills

– Computer literate

– Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills

– Email management

– Facebook or related platforms private group management

– Experience/knowledgeable in hosting/assisting in trainings
