Job Description

  • Assists the project leader in the implementation of the project.
  • Conducts earthquake hazards mapping and research using various instruments.
  • Consolidates, analyzes/interprets, and processes data related to active faults, including remote sensing data.
  • Conducts information, education, and communication campaigns and work with local government units and stakeholders during fault information dissemination activities.
  • Writes reports, procedures, and publishable papers.
  • Operates/maintains/builds databases
  • Presents results in written and oral manner
  • Performs other tasks related to the project that may be assigned from time to time

 

Educational Background

Graduate of BS Geology Physics or related earth science and engineering courses

 

Experience/Training/Competency

  • Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks.
  • Basic field mapping and GIS Skills
  • Able to work with a team and handle staff
  • Able to communicate well with coworkers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Able to manage work schedule and project activities with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented
  • With good technical writing and presentation skills
  • With a sound understanding of research topic principles and methodologies related to earthquake sources and effects. 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge on remote sensing and photogrammetry, tectonics, geomorphology, and seismic
  • Preferably with experience in using geophysics and seismic instrumentation and data processing
  • Extensive experience in remotely piloted vehicles is an advantage.
