Job Description

  • Prepare, organize, and file DOST-required documents and liquidation requirements
  • Assist in financial tracking, procurement, and coordination with FAD and project managers
  • Manage document routing, PMIS uploads, and archival of project files

Job Description

  • Collect, organize, and process data for tsunami source modeling and simulation input
  • Perform GIS and spatial data analysis to support inundation mapping and validation

  • Assist in field data collection, stakeholder coordination, and database management

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geomatics, Physics, Engineering, or related technical discipline

  • Conduct data analysis, calibration, and sensitivity testing to ensure model accuracy and robustness

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field

Job Description

  • Lead assigned modeling or analytical components, such as source characterization, inundation mapping, or statistical analysis of historical tsunami data
  • Supervise Science Research Specialists I in data processing, simulation runs, and validation activities
  • Apply programming and data analytics skills (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB) to automate modeling workflows and analyze simulation outputs
  • Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis and visualization for tsunami hazard mapping
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, figures, and maps for inclusion in the final Tsunami Atlas

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Civil/Structural/Coastal Engineering, Oceanography, or a related field (graduate studies preferred)

Experience/Training/Competency

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in hazard modeling, GIS analysis, or computational data processing
  • Familiarity with simulation modeling software, geospatial tools, and data visualization
  • Working knowledge of programming and statistical analysis tools (Python, R, or MATLAB)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Civil/Coastal Engineering, Oceanography, Earth Science, or Applied Mathematics (Specialization or Master’s degree an advantage)

Experience/Training/Competency

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tsunami or seismic hazard modeling, numerical simulations, or statistical data analysis
  • Proficiency in programming for modeling and statistical analysis (Python, MATLAB, R, or equivalent)
  • Strong technical background in GIS, hydrodynamic modeling, and spatial data management

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee the overall implementation of the Probabilistic Tsunami Hazard Analysis (PTHA) project, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of outputs
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the technical and administrative teams, including modeling, validation, reporting, and documentation
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and scientific integrity of hazard models, technical reports, and final deliverables such as the Tsunami Atlas
  • Manage project resources, budget utilization, and compliance with DOST-PCIEERD and PHIVOLCS reporting requirements
  • Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and stakeholder coordination with government agencies, LGUs, and partner institutions

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Civil/Structural Engineering, Oceanography, or Earth Science or Management (Master’s degree preferred)

Experience/Training/Competency

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in hazard modeling, geospatial analysis, or scientific research project management
  • Strong background in GIS applications, hazard simulation tools, and data interpretation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage both technical and administrative project components
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and coordination skills with government and research stakeholders
