Project description:
GeoRisk Philippines (GeoRiskPH) Initiative is a government-led multi-agency initiative led by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), to serve as the central resource of information on natural hazards and risk assessment. It aims to support the country’s resilience against natural hazards and risks through enhancing the Philippines’ disaster risk reduction and management efforts by providing geospatial information and tools for better decision-making.

Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS locally-funded project
Contract Duration:
October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)
Monthly Salary: PhP 37,584.00
Job Description
– Conducts research that could improve the GeoRiskPH System or related platforms
– Assists in publishing Scientific Papers or Publishes papers in Scientific Journals
– Assists in the conduct of research on risk assessment methods related to GeoRiskPH
– Writes Technical papers
– Generates relevant maps
– Conducts data cleansing and assists in creating GeoMapperPH web application
– Facilitates GeoRiskPH activities and other related engagements
– Assists in enhancing training materials used in GeoRiskPH activities
– Creates public material related to GeoRiskPH
– Documents activities related to GeoRiskPH
– Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Background
– Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geography, Geodetic or any Engineering course. Other courses: BS Fine Arts, BS Multimedia Arts.
Experience/Training/Competency
– Critical thinker; Analytical; Knowledgeable and skilled in GIS applications, preferably ArcGIS, knowledgeable with graphic softwares.
