One (1) Project Technical Assistant IV
Project title: Measurement of Velocities of Earthquake Faults (M.O.V.E. Faults)
Project description:
The M.O.V.E. (Measurement of Velocities of Earthquake Faults) Project is a government-supported research program aimed at quantifying the kinematics and mechanical behavior of active faults in the Philippines through GNSS-based geodetic techniques. With a network of over 300 GPS campaign sites and CORS stations across the country, the project provides critical data on crustal deformation, particularly along the Philippine Fault and other tectonically active zones.
Implementing Agency: Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)
Employment status: Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS locally-funded project
Contract Duration: September to December 2025 (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)
Monthly Salary: 37,584
Job Description:
– Executes GPS data processing tasks.
– Conducts 2D modeling for data visualization and plotting.
– Manages GPS data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
– Assists in the development and implementation of automation tools for GPS data processing.
– Assists in applying existing models (dislocation model, co-seismic source model, and 2D fault model for interseismic deformation) to analyze crustal deformation patterns along the PFZ and other faults.
– Drafts and revises technical papers as directed by the Project Leader or Project Technical Specialist IV.
– Participates in VADASE monitoring for earthquake and non-earthquake anomalies.
– Undertakes any additional tasks directly related to the performance of the specified responsibilities.
