Monthly Salary: PhP 27,871.00

 

Job Description

– Responsible for collating and archiving all available volcano geologic data from various sources.

– Responsible for digitizing existing and new geologic maps covering all volcanoes in the Philippines. Other related tasks include converting paper maps into digital form and georeferencing the scanned map into a user- defined coordinate system projection.

– Provide fieldwork assistance such as volcanic deposit mapping, stratigraphic logging, river channel observation (for lahar assessment), collecting samples (rock, charcoal, water, etc.) if necessary.

– Provide support in drafting technical reports and presentations as well as preparation of administrative-related documents.

– Perform other duties as assigned, especially during volcano-related emergencies and may not be exclusively project related.

Educational Background

– Bachelor’s degree in Geology

Experience/Training/Competencies

– Basic background in Earth Science

– Close attention to details (above average)

– Judgment in interpreting analysis results (above average)

– Computer literacy (above average)

– Interpersonal skills (above average)

– Professional license or relevant certification is an advantage

– Proven working experience as a laboratory assistant is an advantage
