Science Research Analyst
Brief Description of the Position
1. To assist the Section Head of Seismic and Tsunami Network Operations (STNO) and the Division Chief of the Seismological Observation and Earthquake Prediction Division (SOEPD) in timely delivery of accurate Earthquake and Tsunami Information, Warning and Advisory.
2. To assist in the operation of all the Stations of the Philippine Seismic Network (PSN).
3. To assist in the establishment and operation PHIVOLCS Cluster Monitoring Centers for Earthquake and Tsunami.
4. To participate in earthquake and tsunami data acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation for quick inclusion of event parameters to timely issuance of Earthquake and Tsunami Information, Warning and Advisory including up-to-date submission of daily earthquake and tsunami data.
5. To facilitate the repair, preventive maintenance and upgrade including Repair and Rehabilitation Projects of all the earthquake related stations and installations
6. To facilitate the compilation of all issued Earthquake and Tsunami Information, Warning and Advisory.
7. To assist the coordination works with all the Local Government Units (LGU) for earthquake and tsunami related matters and activities including community awareness programs and activities.
8. To act a resource person and spokesperson when assigned by Section Head/Division Chief or Institute’s Top Management.
9. To assist in the development and enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the issuance of Earthquake and Tsunami Information, Advisory, Warning and Cancellation.
10. To assist in the development and enhancement of necessary Work Instructions and Manuals for any system or interface added to Earthquake and Tsunami Network Operations.
11. To assist in the development and enhancement of system interface related to automation of the issuances.
12. Other works assigned by the SOEPD Chief and STO Section Head related to issuances and operations including external meetings and field trips to any of the stations.
