Job Description

● Assists the ITO and Senior SRS on data management and QA/QC of GeoRiskPH services.

● Assists ITO and SRS in maintaining the Enterprise system of GeoRiskPH.

● Leads and assists in conducting training and workshops of GeoRiskPH platforms.

● Assists ITO and SRS in maintaining the GeoRiskPH databases, publishing of map services, and web app (GeoMapperPH) creation.

● Drives advancements in creating higher-value maps and analysis for PHIVOLCS and for other agencies and other stakeholders of GeoRiskPH.

● Leads and assists in the development of training modules for GeoRiskPH platforms and other workshop materials that may be needed.

● Leads and coordinating with stakeholders and organizing/conducting trainings.

● Supports development of relevant projects for the National Exposure Database Program through GeoMapperPH and other GeoRiskPH platforms.

● Collaborates with internal (PHIVOLCS) and external stakeholders in the development and maintenance of the National Exposure Database and other initiatives started by GeoRiskPH.

● Conduct fieldwork and lectures.

● Publishes papers in peer-reviewed journals.

● Perform other functions as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Educational Background

• BS Geology, BS Geography, BS Geodetic Engineering, Information Technology, or related course

 

Experience/Training/Competency

• At least 2 years’ experience in managing development of GIS work packages or development of Geodatabases or other related RS/GIS work.

• Analytical and critical thinker

• Knowledgeable and skilled in GIS applications, preferably ArcGIS, knowledgeable with graphic softwares.
