One (1) Science Research Specialist I

 

Brief Description of the Position:
– Reports directly to the DRR-R&D Section Head and Division Head of the Geologic Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Division (GDAPD);
– Assists in the formulation of projects, lead and/or collaborate with other team members in the conduct of transdisciplinary R&D studies pertinent to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) that includes the field communication, public perception, policy research and physical and social sciences and risk assessments;
– Able to lead R&D projects with minimal supervision leading to writing technical reports, policy papers and scientific and/or social science publication;
– Able to contribute to the development of the Institutes’ information materials;
– Identifies and recommends areas of R&D with special focus on social science and policy research;
– Reviews and edits reports submitted by subordinates;
– Willing to and fit to travel anywhere in the Philippines;
– Performs other functions as may be assigned by the supervisor.
