Job Description
● Provides assistance in field data gathering such as mapping fissures and associated cavities using ground penetrating radar and RPAs, among others.
● Assists in the acquisition of rainfall and other hydrological data, communication with LGUs related to the fissures and lahar monitoring activities.
● Perform GIS-related tasks including digitization of primary and secondary data related to qualitative and quantitative volcanic hazards research and assessment.
● Assists in the preparation of the project related administrative papers.
● Conduct collection, compilation and digitization of primary and secondary data related to the qualitative and quantitative volcanic hazards research and assessment.
● Attend internal and external engagements/trainings/meetings.
● Perform other tasks/functions (may not be exclusively project/section related) as may be assigned from time to time, especially during times of emergencies.
Educational Background
• Graduate of BS Geology
Experience/Training/Competency
• Basic background in Geology, Geomorphology, Stratigraphy, Geochemistry, and Petrology/Petrography.
• Close attention to details (Above average)
• With field mapping skills (basic to intermediate)
• Basic background in GIS (preferably ArcGIS) is an advantage
• Technical Report Writing (basic to intermediate)
• Can work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description
• Assists in earthquake hazards mapping and research using various instruments.
• Assists in the analysis and interpretation of processed data.
• Assists in the conduct of information, education, and communication campaigns and work with local government units and other stakeholders during fault information dissemination activities.
• Carries out activities in the project plan.
• Maintains equipment/instruments
• Contributes in writing reports and publishable papers.
• Assists in administrative tasks concerning the project.
• Presents results in written and oral manner.
• Performs other tasks related to the program that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Background
• Graduate of BS Geology Physics or related earth science and engineering courses
Experience/Training/Competency
• Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks.
• Basic field mapping and GIS Skills
• Able to communicate well with coworkers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Able to manage work schedule and project activities
• Detail-oriented
• With basic technical writing and presentation skills.
• With a sound understanding of research topic principles, methodologies related to earthquake sources and effects.
• Basic knowledge on remote sensing and photogrammetry, tectonics, geomorphology, and seismic
• Preferable with basic knowledge in using geophysics and seismic instrumentation and data processing.
• Experience in remotely piloted vehicles is an advantage.

• Performs other tasks related to the project that may be assigned from time to time
